Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Policy/ Multi Year Plan

1. Policy Statement

NPLH Drilling is committed to excellence in serving all customers, including people with disabilities, and to providing access to our services and employment opportunities in a manner that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. This policy establishes the accessibility standards for customer service according to the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA).

2. Purpose

The purpose of this policy/multi year plan is to ensure accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities with respect to goods, services, facilities, accommodation, employment, buildings, structures, and premises.

3. Scope

This policy applies to all employees, volunteers, agents, and/or contractors who deal with the public or other third parties that act on behalf of NPLH Drilling, including when the provision of services occurs off the premises of NPLH Drilling such as in delivery services, third-party marketing agencies, etc.

4. Providing Goods and Services to People with Disabilities

NPLH Drilling is committed to providing services in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. Therefore, the company will ensure that:

  1. All customers receive the same value and quality;
  2. Alternative means of communication and service delivery, when possible, are offered if service delivery is not accessible to all;
  3. Employees are trained and familiar with various assistive devices that may be used by customers with disabilities while accessing our services.

5. Assistive Devices

Persons with disabilities may use their personal assistive devices while accessing our services. In cases where the assistive device presents a safety concern or where accessibility might be an issue, other reasonable measures will be used to ensure the access of services.

6. Communication

We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. This may include the following methods:

  1. Writing, as an alternative to speaking;
  2. Telephone communication supported by relay services;
  3. Offering to communicate with customers by email if telephone communication is not suitable to their communication needs or is not available.

7. Service Animals

We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.

8. Support Persons

A person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person will be allowed to have that person accompany them on our premises. Fees will not be charged for support persons for admission to NPLH Drilling’s premises.

9. Notice of Temporary Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities, NPLH Drilling will notify customers promptly. This clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available.

10. Training

NPLH Drilling will provide training to employees, volunteers, and others who deal with the public or other third parties on their behalf. This training will be provided to staff as part of their orientation process and on a continuing basis as changes to the policy, practices, and procedures occur.

11. Feedback Process

Customers who wish to provide feedback on the way NPLH Drilling provides services to people with disabilities can email, call, or write to our customer service. All feedback will be directed to the Human Resources department. Customers can expect to hear back within seven business days.

12. Modifications to This or Other Policies

Any policy of NPLH Drilling that does not respect and promote the dignity and independence of people with disabilities will be modified or removed.
